Birthday Book Club is a great way to help out the Howard Elementary Library. Each month students having a birthday in that month get a letter inviting them to participate in the Birthday Book Club. The letter asks for a $10 donation to purchase a new book for the school library. The students that participate get to pick out the book to be purchased with Mrs. Dodson (our school Librarian) then they have a label placed inside the book honoring them and their birthday. They also get to check that book out first. In addition, the students get a "goodie bag" of treats as a little birthday gift from the library (this is where we need your help).This wonderful program, originally created by our Librarian Mrs. Dodson, is kept alive by generous donations from Parents and our hard working PTO mom Laura Macri. This program has enlightened every child that has participated as well as provided new books for our Library.
In order to keep this program going we need items donated such as pencils, erasers, bubbles, play dough, or any small trinket that you might add to a birthday goody bag. Please send these items in with your child labeled "Birthday Book Club" attention to Mrs. Dodson.
